How to Apply for Unemployment

Golden State Stimulus
California provides the Golden State Stimulus to families and individuals who qualify. This is a stimulus payment for certain people that file their 2020 tax returns. The Golden State Stimulus aims to:
- Support low and middle income Californians
- Help those facing a hardship due to COVID-19
For most Californians who qualify, you do not need to do anything to receive the stimulus payment other than file your 2020 tax return.
There are two different stimulus payments. You may qualify for one or both of them. Visit this website for more information regarding Golden State Stimulus I and II.
Golden State Grant (GSG) and SSI/SSP Recipients
Recent California legislation authorized a one-time supplemental SSP payment in the amount of $600 to SSI/SSP recipients to provide relief from hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Payments in the amount of $600 will be automatically mailed out based on zip code. Recipients can expect to receive their payment based on the following schedule:

Please Note: Due to new guidance issued by the federal government, this payment will not be counted toward the SSI/SSP resource limit of $2,000 for an individual and $3,000 for a couple.
Long-COVID Information
We know there are many people in our community who may be deemed "recovered" from COVID-19 in that they are no longer contagious, but they may still have lingering health impacts.
Long-COVID is when individuals have lingering or develop new symptoms after their initial recovery period. This can happen to anyone who has had a natural COVID-19 infection, even if they were not experiencing severe symptoms with their initial infection.
You can work with your primary care provider for support, but here are some additional resources:

- Mariposa (Senior) MealsLunch Program is available on weekdays from Mariposa Senior/Community Services.

Location: Senior Center, 5246 Spriggs Lane, Mariposa, $4 suggested Senior donation - NOTE: Non-Seniors are also able to order lunch at a $6 cost
