Mariposa County Health & Human Services Agency is seeking a vendor to ensure successful installation, staff training, and support of new technology purchased under the Rural Utilities Services Program, a USDA funded Grant Program.  The goal of this Program is to increase access to services for Mariposa County residents.  The proposed delivery of telemedicine services will aim to improve access to critical behavioral health and opioid treatment services.  This Program will connect rural behavioral health care professionals with their clients from our hub locations to remote sites, allowing behavioral health services to be delivered via live telecommunications, reducing the need for lengthy travel by either providers or the clients they serve.  In addition, the telemedicine network will allow sites to access psychiatry and other specialty care from third party providers.

Multiple sites have been identified throughout the County.  Each site must receive its equipment and on-site training to ensure complete understanding of each product and proper use.  Key personnel at each project site included in the project will receive on-site training during installation of the telemedicine equipment to ensure effective and sustainable use of the equipment.  The selected vendor’s Project Team will be expected to support staff in building sustainable telemedicine services across the seven identified sites:  four county clinic sites, the local critical access hospital, the high school and the county jail.  The project team will work with partners to develop new models for integrating and coordinating care across systems via telemedicine.

 Services that may be offered through the telemedicine network include:

  • Routine behavioral health treatment and medication management services;
  • Weekly prescription dispensing for clients with serious mental illness;
  • Addictions assessment and counseling;
  • Medication Assisted Treatment for opioid addiction;
  • Group counseling sessions for mental health and substance use disorder treatment;
  • Case management services;
  • Consultation to school and foster youth program staff to support management of youth with emotional disorder/behavioral concerns; and
  • Continuing medical education training for behavioral health and addiction services providers.

Proposals are due on or before July 15th, 2019.  Submit proposals electronically to  They can be in Word or PDF formats.  If you have any questions, please contact Todd Davidson at 209-742-0813 or electronically at

Work plan activities will be carried out during the Project period, starting with contract award and continuing through December of 2021.

The selected vendor will coordinate with County Information Technology staff for access to locations.  Each site will receive their equipment with onsite training and guidance to ensure complete understanding of each product and proper use.   Interested organizations are encouraged to apply according to these instructions.
