This blog will enable a community conversation on 4 topics carefully chosen by the Midpines Planning Advisory Committee for relevance to the Midpines Community. Topics are:

• Economic Development, Housing and Community Character,
• Cultural History and Community Character
• Land Use Regulations
• Fire Hazard

Each topic in the series is accompanied by a short set of questions designed to allow participants to give personal opinions concerning issues and options surrounding these topics.

One of the four new topics will be introduced each week (“Topic of the week”) for one month and one of 31 questions corresponding to topics will be introduced approximately every day (question of the day) during this period.

As new topics and questions are introduced, all previously presented topics, questions and comments will continue to be shown on the page.

Each topic will be accompanied by information links and contact information so that participants can directly access corresponding studies, laws and regulations or talk to someone knowledgeable. Commenters are free to add links to other information for access by other participants.

This page is intended to increase the level of awareness in the community on these topics and help prepare for two community forums to be held in early Fall:

1) Fire Safety and Open Space Plans and Management (previously separate)
2) Community Character, Cultural History and Community and Economic Development

Each of these two forums will consist of panel discussions with a short question and answer period followed by an open agenda community meeting. These forums will be advertised on this page.
