Advisory Boards & Committees

The Human Services Department oversees many member boards. These boards provide valuable information for the community. They identify community and family needs, research effective strategies and recommend appropriate programs. These member boards include:

  • The Mental Health Board whose mission is to ensure high quality mental health services for all individuals in our community by evaluating the community's mental health services and needs, advocating for persons with mental health needs, advising the Board of Supervisors and Mental Health Director on related issues and educating the public on the importance of mental health as a part of community health.
  • The Alcohol and Other Drugs Advisory Board whose mission is to identify community and family needs, research effective strategies and recommend appropriate programs.
  • The In-Home Supportive Services Advisory Committee provides on-going advice and recommendations regarding in-home supportive services to the Board of Supervisors and the Department of Human Services.
